Bicton College

Bicton College is a well established further education college, based in East Devon, specialising in subjects such as agriculture, gardening, floristry, arboriculture, vetinary care, and equine studies.  It is next door to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, and both the college and botanical gardens were once part of the Bicton Estate.

Bicton College started off in 1946, leased by Devon County Council, as the Devon Farm Institute, consisting of the house, park and Home Farm, with the remaining parts of the estate (now Bicton Park) remaining in private ownership.  It became Bicton College of Agriculture in 1967, and Bicton College in 2002.

Bicton as an estate, dates back to the 11th century, with the current manor house and gardens dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.  The house and other parts of the estate are Grade II listed.
