BictonColl Gardening

We are the horticulture volunteers at Bicton College.

This website is for BictonColl Gardening.  We are the horticulture department at Bicton College, in East Budleigh, Devon.

BictonColl Gardening consists of the horticultural department, and a team of volunteers.  Along with students at the college, charities and other grounds staff, we look after the historic walled kitchen garden and surrounding gardens at Bicton College.

In addition to teaching, and maintaining the gardens, we are also working on the following:

  • producing more fruit, veg and flowers in the garden in order to offer them to sell
  • offering green therapy
  • becoming the holder of the National Collection of Salvia greggii, as part of the National Collection scheme run by the Plant Heritage

Bicton College is part of The Cornwall College Group which offers a large variety of  City and Guilds, ncfe,  gardening skills and horticulture courses to people aged 16 and above.  Bicton College is also an RHS approved qualification centre.  The horticulture lecturers teach the courses offered by Bicton College.
